A man armed with a set of pushbike handlebars has robbed an Illawarra service station on the weekend.

About 8pm on Sunday, a man allegedly entered a service station on the Princes Highway at Unanderra with his face covered by a black balaclava.
According to Lake Illawarra police, the offender made some demands of the attendant, who complied.
The offender left the service station with a small amount of cash and cigarettes.
Police were contacted and arrived soon after.
Police described the man as being of Caucasian appearance with a large build, and was also wearing a brown jumper and khaki coloured cargo pants.
The crime scene was examined by forensic officers and the matter continues to be investigated.
