The family-friendly Barrel of Monkeys is being presented as part of the 2018 Spiegeltent Wollongong season.
Featuring some of Australia’s greatest acrobats, the physical comedy is running until Sunday.
Performer Magnus D. Magnus is the show’s ringmaster.
“It’s my job to make sure these four naughty monkeys do what I’ve trained them to do,” he said.
“However, they’re still a little bit naughty, and have been known to run around in times when they’re not supposed to run around.
“But when they do what I ask them to do, they do some incredible stuff. Some of the most amazing monkey tricks that you’ve ever seen inside a beautiful Spiegeltent.”
Magnus said the Wollongong audience had responded well to the first show.
“There’s been a lot of kids very excited, and some of them even wanting to become part of the show halfway through, which is something I’m all for,” he said.
Meanwhile in other school holiday activities, following sold-out seasons at the Sydney Opera House, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and in New Zealand, Roald Dahl’s family favourite George’s Marvellous Medicine will arrive in Wollongong.
It will be showcased at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre from April 27-28.
The live show is by the award-winning shake & stir theatre co.
