Wollongong Olympic coach George Antoniou insists his men are yet to hit top gear despite thrashing early season title favourites Wollongong United 4-0 at Macedonia Park on Saturday.

Olympic blitzed the Fraternity Club Cup winners in the first 25 minutes, surging to an early 3-0 lead away from home.
Shun Tokuno whipped in a well placed free kick before John Martinoski fired in a quick fire double to put the visitors in the box seat.
Gun striker Yuseke Ueda killed off United’s challenge in the 58th minute to seal a comfortable victory for Olympic.
Antoniou had high praise for him men after the match, but still believes they haven’t hit top gear.
“We’ve still got a long way to go,” he said.
“We are certainly getting closer to where we want to be, but we’re not there yet.
“At the moment we are improving every week and I am really happy with what we are doing.”
Olympic moved into outright second behind Bulli after the win.
Olympic fell 2-1 to title rivals Bulli before the clash with United, but showed why they are one of the competition’s best teams.
They needed just 20 minutes to extinguish United’s challenge in a dominant performance away from home.
After wasting some golden opportunities last weekend, they made no mistake in front of goal as Tokuno, Martinoski and Ueda all cashed in in front of goal.
“They are always tough, but we put our chances away,” Antoniou said.
“We worked hard from start to finish and our defence was excellent again.
“We actually played better than we did against Bulli last week.”
Olympic are still in the running in the FFA Cup and drew NSW National Premier League APIA Leichhardt Tigers in preliminary round five.
In a blockbuster round of IPL, Bulli brought Fernhill back down to earth with a crushing 8-0.
Cringila beat Woonona 3-1 and Albion Park White Eagles overcame Picton Rangers 2-0.
On Sunday, Tarrawanna defeated Port Kembla 2-0 while Corrimal Rangers hammered South Coast United 5-0.
