The historic Tahmoor home that will feature on a television makeover show has sold.

The Selling Houses Australia team completed a three-day renovation of Tahmoor House in February.
The price tag was $968,000 for the four-bedroom, three-bathroom, four-parking space home that sits on an acreage block.
The show, which is episode 11 of season 11, will air on Wednesday, May 16 on Foxtel’s Lifestyle channel at 8.30pm.
The new owners, who wish to remain anonymous, are a couple from the Southern Highlands area.
“We found the property available on a real estate website and found the history of the property very interesting,” the owner said.
“We were unaware of the previous listing of the property.
“We had not gone through it prior to the renovation team from Selling Houses Australia being involved.
“The team have done a great job in starting the restoration of the property, which we plan to continue.
“The property has a wonderful history and we are going to ensure its history is preserved.”
The property will remain a private residence.
Tahmoor House, on Remembrance Drive, was built in 1824 and is one of the oldest private residences in Australia.
Real estate agent Brad Carpenter, owner of Carpenter Partners in Tahmoor, said he was pleased for the seller and buyer.
“Everything went well with the sale of the home,” he said.
“The house will need to more maintenance work but the owners knew that when they bought it.
“I am looking forward to seeing the house featured on the show.”
Previous homeowner Heather Gray and she and her husband purchased the property in the hope of turning it into an antique shop in their retirement.
After her marriage broke down, Ms Gray said she was “ready to move on”.
“The renovation will be great for the house and great for me,” she told Fairfax Media in January.
“Because I live alone, the upkeep is too much for me.”
Real estate guru and Selling Houses Australia host Andrew Winter spoke to the Advertiser in February and described the house a “rabbit warren”.
“We could see straight away that the floor plan needed to be addressed to suit a modern-day family,” he said.
“There is an historic element and character to the home but the decor was below average. It was dated.
“Shaynna Blaze (the show’s interior designer) needed to make the layout more modern and functional and Charlie Albone, our landscape designer, made the garden more user-friendly and appealing to buyers.”
The home, which is built in a Georgian-style, was originally a coaching inn and in the mid-1800s it became a private family residence.
The living areas consist of a large formal lounge with open fireplace, a north facing sunroom which takes in rural views; a breakfast room adjoining the kitchen; an additional lounge and an enclosed verandah room.
There is also a tennis court, water garden, fish pond, barn-style workshop and cellar.
