The pair will feature on the first episode of Buying Blind, where they entrust three experts with their own money in the hope they can find, purchase and renovate their dream home.
Cafe manager Fotis said it was very nerve-wracking at first as they didn’t know who the experts would be, though felt slightly more relieved when they discovered interior designer and resident judge on The Block Shaynna Blaze would be one of them.
“There were moments where it was like ‘what have we done’ but we’re pretty positive,” he said.
“You’re giving these people your home and they’re designing it but [you think] ‘do they know us well enough to make it a home and make us feel tranquil in it and want to come home after work’?” added Jess.
The process began last September with no clues about the location or style of home given to the couple in between. Both Fotis and Jess said they just held onto the hope Blaze, buyers agent Rich Harvey and builder Marshal Keen would help them get into the property market.

The pair are both musicians so the house would have to come with a “dream music studio”. Their maximum budget was $900,000 though they hoped the experts might be able to find something for less than that.
The series will feature six episodes in total with home buyers ranging from upsizers, first home buyers and couples with young children.
Buying Blind, series premiere, Tuesday 7.30pm, Nine.
