A man has been taken to hospital after he walked into Wollongong police station suffering a stab wound on Friday afternoon.

An investigation is now under way to determine how the man, believed to be aged in his early 30s, came to be injured.
Wollongong police Inspector Don Faulds said the man “presented himself with a stab wound to Wollongong police station” and has since been taken to hospital for treatment.
Inspector Faulds said the man’s condition wasn’t believed to be serious.
A crime scene has been set up on Endeavour Drive, near Wollongong Harbour, as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“We’re following a number of inquiries at this stage in relation to possible vehicles or suspects that may have been involved,” Insp Faulds said.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said paramedics were called to Market Street in Wollongong about 1.35pm following reports a wounded man had walked into the police station
The man was treated for a stab wound to his left tricep and has been taken to Wollongong Hospital.
