Emergency services rushed to an address on Messenger Road following a triple zero call about 12.30am.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze. The house was destroyed.
A crime scene has been set up and detectives from Lake Illawarra police are investigating the incident.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the blaze is being treated as suspicious.
No one was inside the house at the time.
