Reid won a premiership with the Swans in 2012 and played 45 minutes in his return from a quad injury which has restricted him to just one AFL game this season.
Lewis Melican also played for the Swans in the 29-point win over Brisbane on Saturday, as he comes back from a hamstring problem.
Swans AFL coach John Longmire said the pair won’t be rushed back to the top grade.
“It's something we've talked about with our medical staff, we can't rush them, because they're both really important players for us," Longmire said.
Longmire and NEAFL coach Jeremy Laidler have a number of selection considerations before Thursday’s clash with Geelong, after the Swans suffered a 26-point AFL loss to Richmond.
