After much thought over the past few months, I've decided to step away from the head coaching role to focus on other things next season.
Coaching in the NPL takes a lot of time and energy, which can be difficult to maintain year after year.
I felt I would be unable to make that same commitment in 2019.
A big reason for that will the birth of my second child, with wife Jasmine, in the not too distant future. While I intend to stay involved at the club in some form, I know also it will be leaving the post in safe hands.
I have been proud of what we have achieved during my tenure in charge.
Personally, the past three and a half years have been an invaluable and enjoyable experience.
During that period the club has continued to punch above our weight against many of the bigger Sydney outfits.
We’ve managed to remain competitive across multiple competitions, highlighted by appearances in the NPL finals and a memorable date with Sydney FC in the FFA Cup.
Those experiences will undoubtedly live long in my memory. It's also been a pleasure to see young players flourish during that time.
To watch guys like Jordan Murray and Josh MacDonald, both former Wolves, earn A-League contracts was incredibly rewarding.
The Wolves have long been a breeding ground for top talent, so it’s always important to see that continue and pleasing to play a part in it.
Getting the opportunity to work with guys of the calibre of Luke Wilkshire and Nick Montgomery was another valuable experience as well as working with countless more talented footballers from our region. Last but certainly not least, it’s been fantastic to work alongside so many wonderful members of the Wolves coaching staff, trainers and club volunteers.
Like most teams in the NPL, the club would be nothing without their hard work and the support of the fans in our community.
