Showers are set to linger across the region for the rest of this week, with 25-50 millimetres possible over the next seven days.
The forecast precipitation will continue what has been the wettest start to October in a decade.
At Bellambi, 85mm of rain has fallen during the first nine days of October.
While far from drought-breaking, the rain has delivered the suburb its wettest start to October since 2009.
Bellambi’s October average is 75.9mm.
Albion Park (52.2mm so far this month) and Kiama (82.2mm) have also recorded their wettest starts to October in 10 years.
After a sunny Tuesday, showers will return on Wednesday; with up to 20mm possible in Wollongong.
On Thursday and Friday, the city can expect between two and four millimetres.
Further falls of up to 10mm are expected on both days of the weekend.
The showery conditions are set to hang around until next Tuesday.
