The Housing Industry Association is a leading national industry association for the construction and development industry.
The 2018 HIA-CSR NSW Housing and Kitchen and Bathroom Awards were presented in Sydney on Saturday night.
Dapto-based Evolution Building Group won the ‘Professional Small Builder/Renovator’ category, for builders with an annual turnover of less than $10 million.
This category aims to recognise professionalism in the housing industry, including in areas like business philosophy, principles and leadership; and financial management and ethical conduct.
The Dapto business has been operating since 2010.
Director Darrin Thompson said after being a finalist last year, they had now “taken out the big one”.
“There’s a lot of hard work that goes on behind the scenes to get these kinds of awards,” he said.
“It’s good recognition for all the staff, suppliers and tradies that we use.
“It means a lot for the business, and makes us want to jump into the next category, which is ‘medium builder’.”
Winners progress as finalists to the 2019 HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards.
