Wedlock has only recently joined Warilla from their big Sydney rival Cabramatta and made a winning debut in Gorilla’s colours by claiming the South Pacific Carnival Singles earlier this month.
The 22-year-old is one of the best young players in Australian bowls and has already won three South Pacific Singles titles. While Wedlock is expected to be a huge asset in the Gorillas’ bid to win the State Grade 1 pennant crown, his move to Zone 16 is also a massive boost for the rep team.
Wedlock will wear the Zone 16 rep shirt for the first time playing Pairs with Figgy Bowlo’s Jarrod Beckford in the annual Quad Series hosted by Zone 2’s Hills BC.
The series format is Pairs, Triples and Fours with Towradgi Park’s Blake Gillard, plus 15-year-old Warilla junior Toby Peters and his clubmate Jayden Gebbe teaming up in the Triples.
Wiseman Park’s Tom Hull - who partnered clubmate Shane Pascoe to win the South Pacific Pairs – will play lead in the U25s Fours squad.
He is partnered by Jesse Godfrey (Albion Park), Danyon Christie (Corrimal) and Wiseman Park’s Jordan Taylor.
