Lake Illawarra will push for an outright victory next weekend after a Kerrod White century handed the team first-innings points in their clash with Kiama/Gerringong.

After sending their opponents into bat, Lake Illawarra bowled Kiama/Gerringong out for 94, with White taking 3-16.
The veteran then produced with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 144 to steer the Lakers to 6-228 at stumps.
Lake Illawarra captain Mark Ulcigrai said White was able to adjust his play to take advantage of the conditions at Howard Fowles Oval.
“We bowled really well,” Ulcigrai said. “To bowl them out for 94 and then go out and get first innings points was really pleasing.
“Kerrod batted extremely well, batted to the conditions. There were a couple of chances, but he capitalised on them, and they came late in the innings.”
Having secured first-innings points, the Lakers will look to claim the outright victory next Saturday.
Competition leaders heading into the round, Lake Illawarra are under pressure to secure maximum points after Oak Flats claimed an outright win over The Rail inside a day on Saturday.
Ben Morrow claimed eight wickets to bowl The Rail out for 66 in the first innings, before Scott Tobin’s 64* steered the side to 4-152 declared. Morrow returned to claim a further five wickets in The Rail’s second innings.
Lastly, Shellharbour claimed the upper hand in their clash with Kookas. Joel Willstrop (81) steered the team to 210 before Kookas were reduced to 5-50 at stumps.
