"We were in Wollongong about a month ago," his mother Diana said.

"He saw some homeless people on the street and he was quite devastated by it, and asked me if we could buy them all houses."

Mrs Harb said her son did some modelling, and asked if he could use his money from that to buy a thousand sleeping bags. 

"He didn't have enough money, so was asking me how to go about it," she said. 

The Bulli Public School year 1 student has now set a goal to collect and donate 1000 sleeping bags and pillows to the homeless people of Wollongong by April.

Noah said he wanted to collect the items by April because "I didn't want the people to get cold in winter". 

With his family's assistance, Noah has set up an unofficial not-for-profit via Facebook, whereby the public can donate the items, or make a monetary contribution to the cause. 

"He named it 'Noah's sleeping bag charity'," his mother said.

"It's not a registered charity, it's just something that he wanted to put together."

In just a few days, he's already had about 40 sleeping bags donated, and raised about $770. 

"The majority of the items will be donated to the Wollongong Homeless Hub, and he wants to give some of them out to some of the people actually on the streets," Mrs Harb said.

"He's always been a really generous soul. He's just a kind boy, and such a good soul. It makes me so proud that he's thinking of others."
