The Illawarra Mercury understands the young gun has penned a deal with the Wolves just days after parting ways with the Wanderers.
Scott left Western Sydney by 'mutual consent' on Friday after three seasons with the club's first team.
He had 28 appearances in red and black, scoring on five occasions.
Scott started his career in Wollongong at the Balgownie Rangers before joining the Wolves youth set-up and eventually to the Wanderers in 2016.
The 21-year-old has struggled for game time this A-League season under new German coach Markus Babbel and will return to the Illawarra hoping to launch himself back into the national frame.
He put in a 60-minute shift for the Wolves in the club's 2-1 trial loss to Rockdale City Suns on Sunday afternoon.
Scott's arrival will be a timely one for the Wolves, who struggled in front of goal throughout last season.
The club scored just 23 goals from 22 matches and have since had leading goalscorer Peter Simonoski depart the club for Sydney United 58.
Japanese striker Yuzo Tashiro has also hung up the boots, leaving another vacancy at the pointy end of Wollongong's attack.
Scott joins a front third which already features English striker Thomas James.
James boasts an impressive record in the NPL Capital Football competition, netting 80 goals in just 83 games.
He won both the Player Of The Year and Golden Boot last season with Canberra FC.
The duo are among a list of new arrivals for the Wolves, which includes former George Naylor Medallist Guy Knight and talented young gun Harry Callahan who were both signed from Illawarra Premier League champions Bulli.
Midfielders James Stojcevski and Ben Tosi will also suit up for Wollongong this season.
Tosi returns to the club after suffering a serious leg injury while playing for the Wolves back in 2017.
Nick Littler has also returned to take a spot in the heart of the Wolves defence while goalkeeper Justin Pasfield will remain the club captain.
Veteran fullback Chris Price will go around again, with Brendan Griffin and Darcy Madden in the selection frame for round one.
The Wolves open their campaign on home soil when they host Manly United at Albert Butler Memorial Park on March 10.
