Set to join Victoria next season, the country's most decorated women's star was named NSW's most outstanding female cricketer before Abbott took home the Steve Waugh Medal for the men.

Perry's win was the second straight time she'd claimed the prize, and drew her equal with Alex Blackwell with three wins. Lisa Stahlekar and Leah Poulton have each won the award four times.

In arguably her best summer of cricket, Perry blitzed 777 runs for the Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League at an average of 86.33, taking her side to the final and being named their most valuable player.

She also averaged 31 with the bat and 18.71 with the ball in the 50-over competition, as she won her 11th WNCL title with the Breakers before moving to Melbourne to live with husband, and Rebels Super Rugby player Matt Toomua.

Meanwhile, Abbott's prize was also the second time he'd won the prestigious Steve Waugh Medal, and the first since his last international appearance in 2014.

The 27-year-old claimed 37 scalps at 22.29 in the Sheffield Shield, as the Blues reached the final of the first-class competition before going down to Victoria.

He also took 22 wickets in this summer's Big Bash League for the Sydney Sixers, and was NSW's best bowler in the one-day cup with 12 scalps.

Fellow opening bowling Trent Copeland was the Blues' Sheffield Shield player of the summer, with his 50 wickets championing his cause for an unlikely Ashes return in seemingly friendly English conditions.

Teenager Jack Edwards claimed the state's limited-overs award, Englishman Tom Curran the Sixers' player of the season and Callum Ferguson the Thunder's.

Alyssa Healy won the NSW Breakers' player of the year, while New Zealand wicketkeeper Rachael Priest won the Thunder's WBBL prize.
