Wollongong have been sensational through the first nine rounds and are yet to lose in the top flight in 2019.
They hold a four-point buffer at the top of the NSW National Premier League Men's 1, with six wins and three draws so far this season.
Last weekend, the club broke a drought of close to a decade with a dominant 4-0 win over Blacktown City in front of a small crowd at WIN Stadium.
On Saturday night they will return to the venue to take on fellow title contenders Rockdale City Suns and Wilkshire has urged the community to come out in numbers.
"I's a massive game and it would be great to see people get out to support the team," he said.
"This is a team that the region can be really proud of. We have got a lot of young talent there and we are playing great football as well.
"We are scoring goals and playing attractive attacking football. We want to make WIN Stadium a fortress and for people to be there in the stands."
It will be the first time this season that Wollongong play on Saturday night, but Wilkshire said it could become a regular time slot for the club in future.
"We are pushing for the next one to be there and hoping it might become a regular thing," he said.
"It doesn't clash with most local afternoon matches and we can really try and make it our own."
Wollongong have the chance to put further ground between themselves and one of their main title challenges when they host the Suns.
Rockdale are fourth on the ladder and have won four consecutive matches heading into round 10.
Wilkshire admitted it would be a challenge but had faith in his troops to do the job on home soil.
"We are focused on our attitude and desire," he said.
"We know if we play to our best we can beat any team in the league.
"Last week we played really well and it was probably our most complete 90 minutes of the season both defensively and attacking wise.
"Coming into that game, City had only conceded 7 goals in eight games and we put four past them. It could have been more as well so that's a sign of where we are at."
Wollongong will still be without Lachlan Scott (face) and Brendan Griffin (knee), however the former has returned to training after undergoing surgery.
Takeru Okada and Darcy Madden are both pushing for selection again after both missed last week's clash with City.
Meanwhile, Wollongong were given a dream draw in round six of the FFA Cup after avoiding another NPL opponent as they take on Pittwater RSL FC.
In the State League, South Coast Flame travel away to face Hurstville City Minotaurs in the Ilinden Sports Centre.
The Flame had a bye last week and are in seventh on the ladder.
