Python, pokie and pot found in city raids

A carpet python, gaming machine and cannabis were among items found in raids across Shellharbour City early this morning.Lake Illawarra detectives together with Proactive Crime Team and Crime Management Unit officers executed search warrants at three addresses in Barrack Heights, Mount Warrigal and Shellharbour at 6am.At the Barrack Heights address, police allegedly seized a small quantity of methamphetamine, two ecstasy tablets and a gaming machine, together with a carpet python and two lizards which were handed to National Parks and Wildlife officers.At Mount Warrigal, police seized $1840 and a pair of nunchucks, which are a prohibited article.A quantity of cannabis and $1700 cash were seized at the Shellharbour address.A 37-year-old Shellharbour man was charged with drug possession while a 35-year-old Barrack Heights man was charged with receiving, drug possession, possessing a gaming machine and possessing fauna.Both were bailed to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on January 25.
