Lost in the dizziness of the Eels' historic beatdown of Brisbane were the early marks handed out to three of their big boppers on Sunday afternoon at Bankwest Stadium.

Junior Paulo didn't return from his opening 30-minute stint, Nathan Brown bowed out after 52 minutes, while Shaun Lane was also substituted with eight to go.

Veteran centre Michael Jennings also spent the final eight minutes icing up for the daunting challenge of knocking the Storm out of the title race.

Gutherson insisted the team had already turned their focus on preparing for Melbourne, which will include a review of the Raiders' upset of the minor premiers.

"You want to go against the best teams - that's what finals is about," he said.

"So we're going to get into the video next week, have a look at what Canberra did, have a look at what other teams do, and we just want to play our own game.

"It was pretty lucky out there. We got to rest Junior for a lot of that second half and a couple of others. So it goes a long way and very pleasing."

Front-rower Kane Evans is likely to come into calculations for a return after serving his one-game suspension for a high tackle.

His possible recall would leave coach Brad Arthur with the difficult decision of dropping a forward from a side who claimed the biggest finals win in history.

The record victory only further enhanced Gutherson's belief that the Eels were primed to finally end their 33-year premiership drought.

"As I said a couple of weeks ago, everyone is backing Melbourne and (the Sydney) Roosters and stuff like that to win the comp," Gutherson said.

"We just have to keep going, have that belief and, hopefully, put on more performances like that. We know they're not going to come like that every week."
