Each of the 44 services running between those stations will boast eight cars from New Year's Day.
It's a promise Transport Minister Andrew Constance first made in February this year.
It's now been confirmed in a response to a question on notice from Keira MP Ryan Park about plans to alleviate crowding on South Coast services.
The response from the minister added that more services would be coming "to meet future increases in demand".
Mr Park was pleased to hear that weekend commuters would be more comfortable.
"I have heard too many stories from elderly residents who have been forced to stand for their entire journey simply due to there only being four carriages on the service," Mr Park said.
"If we want to encourage people to use public transport then we need to provide the services to meet that demand."
