The house, located at 80 Rose Valley Road, Rose Valley (near Gerringong) sold for $1,170,000 recently.
It sits on a quarter-acre block surrounded by farmland, and boasts rural and mountain views.
The three-bedroom plus study, two-bathroom home was reportedly sold to a Sydney couple looking to be closer to their children.
This was the first time the property had been offered for sale, after it had been in the Quinn family for more than 60 years.
Rachel Hennessy (née Quinn) grew up at the property, which was owned by her late parents Jack and Pat Quinn.
"Dad grew up on the dairy farm, and when Mum and Dad were married in 1956 they cut out a block of land here, built the house and moved in there in about 1958," Mrs Hennessy said.
The Quinns had owned the 500-acre dairy farm surrounding the property. The farm was sold in 1999.
It was then divided into four lots. Two of the lots are now owned by Schottlanders Wagyu, while the others are now in the hands of lifestyle property owners.
"It's been nice to see people coming in and developing agri-business, and continuing that agricultural heritage in the area," Mrs Hennessy said.
Mrs Hennessy and her family had relocated from Ireland to the Rose Valley property several years ago, to look after her father during the final years of his life.
Following his death in February, Mrs Hennessy and her siblings inherited the property.
Mrs Hennessy said her family was moving back to Ireland, and the family had decided to put the home on the market.
She told the Mercury it was a bittersweet feeling to sell the property.
"It's idyllic, and an idyllic dairy farming community - beautiful neighbours and a very quiet area," she said.
"Rolling green hills - it's always very lush and green."
The home has been partly renovated.
Meanwhile, the non-renovated section offers classic 1950's and '60s features, including curved windows and walls, decorated cornice and an original 1950's bar.
"It has some beautiful art deco features throughout," selling agent, Zest Real Estate's Angie Ritchie said.
"The lounge room is like stepping into a time warp; it has a decorated cornice, curves and amazing furniture.
"It's a flat, beautiful block surrounded by rural farmland. It's just spectacular."
Mrs Ritchie said Rose Valley was a tightly held, exclusive market.
"There's only about 50 houses in the whole little suburb there, and people tend to hold on to them as it's such a beautiful place to live," she said.
"Even the inquiries we've had on this property... The people who bought it are an older couple, but I did have a younger family that were also very interested.
"It's ideal for someone who's looking for a quieter life, but within a stone's throw to town."
