The Illawarra Police Rescue Squad and Wollongong SES Unit were called out to a dog rescue on Friday afternoon, with reports they would be doing a vertical cliff rescue.
However the incoming tide meant the rescue quickly became more urgent, with Wollongong City Council lifeguards, members of Helensburgh-Stanwell Park Surf Life Saving Club and a dedicated vet nurse called in to help.
"Remi the lab cross had fallen over an edge 4-5m in height and injured her front legs, she was unable to walk with out being in lots of pain," the Illawarra Police Rescue Squad said.
"She was sedated by vet nurse and extracted via raft to an awaiting IRB and ferried back to Stanwell Park Beach and taken to the vet clinic for treatment."
"Great mix of skills giving a great result for Remi and her family."
