This effort has included assisting with evacuation of residents in Yalwal, North Sassafras and Fishermans Paradise at the weekend with MRH-90 Taipan helicopters.
The ADF is working with Emergency Management Australia providing transport support, aviation, logistics, engineering and accommodation support in both NSW and Qld.
HMAS Albatross has provided a base of operations for the fleet of fixed wing water bombers and observation platforms.
The base is also providing air services and support to rotary wing water bombers and observation aircraft used to conduct firefighting operations in the local areas of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.
In a combined ADF commitment, several departments at HMAS Albatross have been stood up to full strength during the State of Emergency.
The HMAS Albatross Airfield Coordination Centre is providing air services support to visiting RFS firefighting aircraft and crews on a 24 hour basis.
The Naval Air Station (NAS) Weather and Oceanography Centre (NWOC) is providing detailed daily meteorological and oceanographic forecast support for RFS air operations.
