It was a great day for bowlers as 17 wickets fell at North Dalton Park between Wollongong and Dapto on Saturday in their Cricket Illawarra two-day contest.
Dapto batted first and limped their way to a total of 101 from 44.1 overs. Opening batsman Dale Scifleet led the way with 39 runs while Lachlan Maddinson took 3/7.
In reply, Blake Owen remained unbeaten on 27 as Wollongong reached 7/101 from 28.2 overs at stumps. Scifleet led Dapto's attack with 4/33 from 9.2 overs.
Elsewhere, Helensburgh is on track for an outright win against Port Kembla. After bundling their opponent out for 82, Helensburgh declared at 3/84. Port Kembla was then flailing at 4/11 in their second innings at the end of play on Saturday.
Corrimal will look to push on with the bat next week after reaching 3/67 in pursuit of Northern Districts' first innings total of 155.
Day one of the University versus Balgownie game was washed out. That two-day clash gets under way next Saturday until Cricket Illawarra's one-day rules.
