The side has secured two wins in the pre-season comp and is now scheduled to meet Oak Flats in a quarter-final on Wednesday.
While keen to secure the title, Willis said he was also focused on his young players getting solid game time.
"In these games, you're trying things and looking at players. It's also runs in the legs for the boys ahead of the season," the coach said.
"You get a win and it gives you a little bit of confidence, we've had two wins in a row now. But our main is to look towards the season starting.
"Young [Benjamin] Learmonth has done well and Zac Mazevski has come in this year and is starting to get his feet again - he just needs to score a couple of goals. Caleb Grace has done exceptionally well and we've had Tyson Black come into the squad and he's only 17."
Willis said he would continue to experiment with the Blueys squad during the Cup.
"I'm looking at different players in different positions. It's a squad game now," he said. "If someone gets injured, it means the next person can come in and do what the other lad was doing. We're quite happy with that."
