Chase Murray, who runs Attaboy restaurant and Alexander's Cafe, saw people panic buying toilet paper leaving many elderly and vulnerable people unable to buy the necessary item from supermarkets.
So he decided to do something to help.
Mr Murray has sourced toilet paper rolls from his supplier and is giving them away to those in need.
"We originally sourced as much as we could from our supplier, then after putting it out on Facebook yesterday, customers have brought in packs and others have donated money so we can by more," he said.
"The generosity keeps growing.
"A lot of people, not just customers, have come in to take a roll since yesterday.
"They have been very appreciative and there has been some tears."
Mr Murray said an Aldi cashier had advised a woman to go to his cafe when she couldn't buy toilet paper for her elderly mother.
"Another lady wasn't allowed to see her granddaughter or her new baby in hospital because there were no masks," he said.
"We have an abundance of masks so we gave her ten for her whole family.
"I'll keep up the donations as long as the need is there."
Mr Murray said he was pleased to see a bit of positivity and generosity given the negativity and fear surrounding coronavirus.
The good deed comes amid Woolworths supermarkets opening exclusively for the elderly and those with a disability to shop from 7am to 8am on Tuesday until at least Friday.
Woolworths say this has been prompted by the unprecedented demand in supermarkets, which has seen many elderly and vulnerable people in the community missing out on vital items.
Attaboy and Alexander's Cafe are located at 106 and 102 Princes Highway, Dapto.
