Anzac Day services and marches across the country were cancelled on mass due to restrictions of large crowds enforced to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Labor's veterans affairs spokesman Greg Warren challenged everyone with access to a television to watch the services on ABC from 5:30am on Saturday in an act of solidarity.
"We may not be able to physically attend Anzac Day services and marches this year, but there's no reason why we can't tune in to the live broadcast and paying our respects for those who have served our great nation," he said.
As part of the commemoration service, those watching are encouraged to stand at the end of their driveway at 6am in a mark of respect for those who have served in the Australian Defence Force.
A 10am service at the Anzac Memorial in Sydney will also be broadcast on the ABC.
"Heading into this year's Anzac Day commemorations, we find ourselves in an unprecedented and difficult situation that has impacted each and every single one of us," Mr Warren said.
"This year in honour of those who have served our nation, hop on out of bed, flick on the tele and remember those who gave everything to defend our freedom and our nation.
"This year's celebrations will be truly unique so let's embrace it and set a rating records in the process.
"Hopefully, come this time next year, we will be able to attend services and marches in our thousands like usual.
"But this is the hand we have been dealt this year so let's make the best of the situation."
People can also using the hashtag #anzacspirit when sharing on social media how they are commemorating as well as by donating to the Anzac Appeal.
