Amanda Bonnici is the only Illawarra real estate agent to make Real Estate Business magazine's Top 50 Women in Real Estate ranking for 2020.
"I was diagnosed with breast cancer last June, and I kept working all the way through it," she said.
"So I have been on chemo and had operations... Now I've finished everything and was given the all clear a couple of weeks ago.
"It was a tough year, but to still stay in (the list) feels very good. I was happy about that."
Ms Bonnici, 47, has consistently made the list - which recognises the nation's top 50 based on data for residential sales - since its launch several years ago.
The list ranks female real estate agents throughout Australia according to a range of metrics, including total sales volume, total number of deals and average sales price.
The Ray White Shellharbour City principal was ranked at No.43 for the latest list, down five spots from the 2019 rankings.
Warilla resident Ms Bonnici sold nearly $60 million worth of property in the last calendar year.
She sold 81 residential properties, with the average listing snapped up after 89 days on the market.
Ms Bonnici, who has been working in the industry for more than a decade, said such success was testament to her staff.
Ms Bonnici also said real estate was "just hard work... The more you put in, the more you get out of it".
"I've always been a hard worker," she said. "I always try and do the right thing by everybody.
"It's one of those jobs that's 24/7. People ring you in the morning, at night or whatever, and I'm not that person that switches off, that goes, 'okay, it's five or six o'clock, bang, I'm gone'.
"I'm back now and full-time, and I want to get back into it how I was."
