Cleanaway's waste facility at Unanderra was among 27 of the company's operations inspected by Environment Protection Authority officers on June 29, the agency said.

But while chemical storage and stormwater management issues were found at some sites, there was no information forthcoming about whether any concerns were found during the Unanderra visit, which was part of what the EPA called a co-ordinated "compliance blitz".
Asked what the outcomes were, an agency spokeswoman said only: "The site inspections identified a number of issues that are being further investigated by the EPA".

The EPA would not say whether these further investigations included the Unanderra operation.
"The 27 inspections identified issues with inappropriate chemical storage, poor maintenance of stormwater controls, as well as a number of other house-keeping matters which are being further investigated by the EPA," the agency's CEO Tracey Mackey said.
