Das Balgi pleaded not guilty yesterday to one count of aggravated sexual assault under authority.

Police allege the 70-year-old doctor sexually assaulted a 34-year-old patient at Dapto Medical Centre on March 12 this year.

Balgi, of North Wollongong, was granted police bail on the matter last month but was ordered not to contact the alleged victim by any means.

Balgi was also directed to be supervised by staff at the medical centre if treating or consulting with patients.

The matter was adjourned to January 30 next year.

A brief of evidence has been ordered to be served by January 15.
