The Friday night show sold out, and featured 400 cars (the number of people in each car load reportedly differed) parked along the turf for the alcohol-free gig.
A second drive-in concert on Saturday night featured the Windang surf-rock outfit again playing their latest studio album, Brain Candy, in its entirety.
The gigs were originally planned for late July, but were postponed due to bad weather.
In order to abide by social distancing restrictions, there was no dancing allowed and food, drinks and merchandise were delivered to vehicles.
Prior to the gigs, band member Zach Stephenson said his Dad would no doubt be wearing a Hockey Dad T-shirt in the crowd.
"My Dad is like the archivist of Hockey Dad, he just knows everything about our band and has all of our stats hidden away," Stephenson said.
"He's kind of our biggest fan, so (my family) is always keen whenever we play a show. They're all excited.
"I can guarantee he'll have a Hockey Dad t-shirt on."
The original shows (July 31 and August 1) were scheduled to launch their latest album Brain Candy because they couldn't do in-store appearances.
The Pinheads were the support act for the shows, along with the premiere of the surf film Rage 3.
Jeb Taylor from the band's record label Farmer and the Owl said the drive-in shows had been a costly exercise, and it was unlikely they would become a regular fixture in the Illawarra.
Brain Candy was released on July 31, and in August, for the second time, Hockey Dad had an album debut inside the Top 10 on the ARIA Album Charts.
Brain Candy, their third studio album, debuted at No.2.
Their previous effort, Blend Inn, entered the album charts at No.6.
