The latest Times Higher Education World Subject Rankings 2021 ranked UOW's School of Law 74th and the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences 92nd.
UOW Vice-Chancellor Paul Wellings welcomed the rankings and said the University had come a long way and remained focused on becoming a leading research and academic institution globally.
The university recently announced that from 2021 the Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) will be offered at the Sydney CBD campus. The degree is currently offered at Wollongong and South Western Sydney campuses only.
The annual Times Higher Education World Subject Rankings cover 11 subject areas, giving an overview of the best places in the world to study a chosen discipline.
This year, a record 1512 institutions received a place in the 2021 Subject Rankings, with 522 newly ranked this year.
UOW also did well in Arts and Humanities as well as Physical Sciences, earning a 126-150 ranking in both subjects.
The university's next best subject was Education, with a 151-175 ranking.
