Personal thanks and appreciation go out to all and sundry who have supported Reel Deal, with reports, stories and the spectacular photos and also to the editors and staff at the Illawarra Mercury, who continue to support recreational fishing.

To clarify, the DPI/Fisheries Trophy Flathead program involves the tagging of fish over 70 centimetres in St Georges Basin, Lake Macquarie and Tuross - all designated Recreational Fishing Havens
The Trophy Flathead initiative is a great example of anglers working with DPI to improve fishing opportunities and maximise the social and economic benefits of recreational fishing in NSW.
The tagging component is nearing capacity, however DPI needs more anglers in the three trophy fisheries to take part in a diary project to gather info on total captures.
Enquiries: research.angler @dpi.nsw.gov.au to receive a diary pack.
