The Chamber's new Business Illawarra brand identity will be formally unveiled at a Business After Hours networking event held Tuesday evening at The Illawarra Hotel.
Executive director of the Illawarra Business Chamber, Mr Adam Zarth said the new name better expressed the the purpose of the organisation.
"The Illawarra Business Chamber has a long history of supporting and promoting our region's business community, and we will be continuing and building on this proud legacy," he said.
"Our business leadership group, Illawarra First, will remain unchanged and continue to drive strong advocacy for our regional economy."
Past infrastructure advocacy campaigns of the chamber include a push for the upgrade of Picton Road and advocacy on the Mount Ousley interchange project, to increase connectivity.
"The transition of our name to Business Illawarra reflects our affiliation with Business Australia and Business NSW," Mr Zarth said.
The Business Illawarra brand identity seeks to project a contemporary image that better reflects the vibrant and diverse business community represented by the Illawarra Business Chamber for many years.
The launch is accompanied by a new website, www.BusinessIllawarra.com, which allows members to stay connected and informed.
