Wicket-keeper batsmen Gilkes is joined in the Blues' squad for the North Sydney Oval fixture by Australian representatives David Warner, Josh Hazlewood, Moises Henriques, Nathan Lyon, Kurtis Patterson, Sean Abbott and Pat Cummins - who will skipper the side.
Rounding out the hosts' squad are Oliver Davies, Ben Dwarshuis, Jack Edwards, Liam Hatcher and Nick Larkin.
The Blues currently sit atop the One-Day Cup ladder following wins against South Australia and Victoria.
Western Australia, come into the fixture on the back of their first loss of the season, going down to Queensland (9-264 to 143) in Thursday's rain-affected match at the Gabba.
The match starts at 10am on Sunday.
