The Wollongong City Council inititiative was held on Sunday in MacCabe Park, Wollongong.
The event, created with the support of the NSW Government and The Festival of Place - Summer Fund was a peaceful family-friendly morning for recreational bike riders.
Held from 8am and 12 noon it featured live music and stage entertainment, games, giveaways, and bike education with Ride Nation.
There were also cycling 'how-to' presentations by Giant Wollongong, food and coffee.
Angie Collins and her husband rode in with their three sons.
"We went to the Fairy Meadow event last week and the boys loved it so we decided to come to this one," she said.
"It's a full outing - we rode in can can have something to eat and drink. Plus it wears them out."
Joshy Bell, aged five, said his favourite part of the event were the bubbles he won after completing a road-sign search activity.
Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery said the council wanted to ecourage the community to travel by bike more often.
"Events like these energise our city, " Cr Bradbery said.
"We also encourage local traffic in the area to be mindful of families on bikes and cyclists in general."
