The Eagles were among 14 clubs across NSW/ACT to receive up to $1600 in funding for new jumpers and shorts as part of the Toyota Good for Footy gear grants program. The initiative aims to promote the ongoing growth of the women's game
"It helps us massively. Obviously clubs are always struggling to get funds, and to get this type of funding is helpful," Port president Craig Kime said. "To get funds through Toyota is really good, they are helping the community out too."
The 2021 AFL South Coast season got under way last weekend. Kime said now was great to get more girls involved in the sport.
"We're big on being inclusive to the game and it's great to get both males and females playing footy," he said.
"I think keeping fit and healthy is key for our local girls staying involved in the game."
