Development director for Shell Cove at Frasers Property Australia, Simone Dyer, said the Waterfront Tavern was progressing well.
"The building has started to be wrapped, including the roof sheeting going on," she said.
"The contractor's working towards lock-up so that they can start their internal fit-out works in the coming months.
"We're still working towards a spring opening of the tavern, in time for the rest of the precinct to be open."
Ms Dyer said the fit-out of the restaurants had started, and was on track for completion at the end of June/beginning of July.
"Then the pub, following that, will be a spring opening," she said.
"We're currently working closely with council to start the handover steps, once all of these elements are complete, so we can open the whole precinct by spring."
Ms Dyer said the tavern would "cater for a variety of different experiences", including a family-style bistro, balcony areas open to marina views, a sports bar and gaming.
The Waterfront, Shell Cove is a masterplanned community, and a Frasers Property and Shellharbour City Council joint venture.
A focal point will be the 270-berth boat harbour and Shellharbour Marina next to the Town Centre featuring a retail precinct anchored by a Woolworths supermarket, with specialty shops and restaurants on the marina's edge. There will also be a hotel, children's beach, water play areas, library and community centre.
Earlier this week, the Mercury reported that more than 700 expressions of interest had been received for the 270 berths at Shellharbour's long-awaited marina - with the first boats expected to arrive in July.
Shellharbour City Council announced on Tuesday that Marine Holdings Australia Pty Limited (MHA) would operate the marina and boat maintenance facility for the next 30 years.
Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said the announcement of the marina operator was a sign to boating enthusiasts around Australia that the marina was officially "open for business".
