A dinner will still be held at the Uni Hall on May 21 and students still plan to protest.
But a UOW spokesman said Prime Minister Scott Morrison and fellow Liberal Party heavyweights and former PMs John Howard and Tony Abbott had never been invited to the dinner.
The spokesman though wouldn't tell the Mercury who was on the guest list for the "private dinner".
He did however question reports the dinner would cost $60,000.
But again he wouldn't divulge how much the dinner would cost, when asked by the Mercury.
