The red fawn dog is rising 3 1/2 years of age and has only raced 29 times (13 wins) - a career punctuated by injury.
A son of Group 1 Association Cup winner Fancy Liza turned heads in March 2020 when he trialled a stunning 28.95 at Sandown, a time which made him (unofficially) the fifth fastest ever at the time at the View Road circuit.
When at the peak of his powers, Nangar Rust posted sizzling wins at Bulli (twice), Richmond and Sandown before going amiss 12 months back.
His return-from-injury trial was at Dapto and he dazzled - posting a near record 29.42 seconds.
He's since taken on the best dogs in the land and built an imposing resume which includes near record wins at Sandown (595m) and Ballarat (545m).
From box one, Nangar Rust is expected to track the speedy Fence Lady early on and his power - at the end of 600m - is a sight to behold.
While Nangar Rust is a seasoned middle distance performer, former Victorian Opal Rocks (box six) steps to 600m for the first time.
A strong winner, by an expanding 6 1/4 lengths at Wentworth Park on April 24 in a fast 29.63, Opal Rocks is adept from a wide alley and certainly appears suited by the step up in trip.
Just 20 minutes after the Nangar Rust-Opal Rocks clash, the promising Good Odds Cash returns to the Showgrounds track after finishing fourth to Bones McCoy at Wentowrth Park in a sizzling 29.62 on May 1.
A slow start from box one proved his undoing last time yet, on his strong 29.79 win at Dapto on April 22, he has the quality to overcome the six alley and prevail in the $5000 to-the-winner contest.
Toughest for Good Odds Cash to beat will be General Payton (box one). He possesses a turn of speed won on slick times at Temora (457m) and Goulburn (440m). While new to Dapto and 520m, he's fresh from a break and drawn to make matters interesting.
The 10-race card gets underway at Dapto at 7.16pm.
