Last Light was concocted by Harrison Hall and Jimmy Sherley - otherwise known as the Holy Pavlova booking agents - and lovingly coined as a "gig crawl" on July 10.
"Wollongong has one of the best live music scenes in Australia, I think that would be a pretty safe call," Mr Hall told the Mercury.
"It's just insane how much is on offer at any given time, but a lot of it does go down at the bigger venues so it's nice to shine a light on the small bar scene.
"As small business owners they tend to be just really good people and genuinely engaged with the community, quite often they're already doing music."
From mid-afternoon until late, live music will sound out across seven venues from cocktail bars to breweries: Black Cockatoo, Five Barrel Brewing, Howlin Wolf, The Prince, Red Square, Moomin and The Shy Postie.
Mr Hall said they had programmed the event to allow people to explore different venues throughout the evening with different styles of music (like country, contemporary, surf pop, indie electro, jazz) for each venue.
"Each will have it's own little flavour," he said. "For people who don't get to see as much live music or are new to the small bar scene in Wollongong, it's a really good opportunity to go and explore both in one hit."
Some of the musicians on the lineup include: Cool Sounds, Flowertruck, Lex Deluxe, Debbies, Ainsley Farrell, Baby Beef, Lady Lyon, Ruben Neeson, Peel, Pyjama Sundayz, Bria, Circadia, Cove Sound System, Drop Offs, Left Lane, Luke McDonald, The Morning Mood, Private Wives, Rainbow Riders, Sam Allen, Scab Baby and more.
It comes as Wollongong City Council has launched a strategy also highlighing night spots, such as the above, in the CBD as well as local musicians in a bid to attract more people to the city centre.
