Margaux Chauvet was on Saturday named in a 29-player squad for a Young Matildas training camp in Sydney. South Coast Flame's Piper Cowen was also included in the squad, along with former Stingrays goalkeeper Sally James.
The opportunity is great reward for Chauvet, who has balanced playing for the Stingrays with Emerging Matildas commitments in 2021. The teen also impressed for Western Sydney Wanderers during her inaugural W-League campaign this season.
Young Matildas head coach Leah Blayney said the six-day camp, which starts on Sunday, was important in each players' development and provided a chance for participants to spend quality time together.
"We want to continue to empower the players and professional development coaches we have had in to take back certain standards into their own environments," she said.
"To further educate the group around what it takes to be a professional footballer - a Westfield Matilda - with demanding training sessions, as well as off the pitch workshops that demonstrate our belief in the human first, then the player.
"The work we do together is important, however, considering the time we have away from each other, we need to ensure we are all continuing to progress so we can make the most of the time when we do assemble."
