The Disability Trust's biennial 'Drama Program Double Bill' show kicked off at the IPAC on Thursday.
The event featured performances from the Trust's 'Altogether Drama' (senior) and 'Mischief Makers' (junior) drama groups.
Michael Norris, manager of sport and recreation services for The Disability Trust said it was the participants' chance to showcase to the community that "people with disabilities can be successful in terms of being a part of the community, and showcase their skills and talents to the wider community".
"It's also about achieving their goals and dreams to be recognised actors," he said.
"They do a brilliant job of remembering their lines and their roles. There's a bit of ad-lib as well, so it's not an issue if people forget things, they can kind of make it up on the spot.
"And they have some really experienced cast members who are able to guide the other participants.
"They come from a range of backgrounds, experience and abilities... And the organisers do a fantastic job of ensuring they're all given a role that suits their needs."
There will be additional performances on Friday at 7.30pm, and Saturday at 2pm and 7.30pm.
