Both teams were set to play at home on Sunday, with the Wolves scheduled to meet Sydney United 58 at Albert Butler Park and the Rays to host FNSW Institute at JJ Kelly Park. However, organisers announced on Friday that numerous games across the men's and women's leagues had been called off.
"Obviously with what's happening at the moment, especially in Sydney, I'm not really surprised by the decision," Wolves coach Luke Wilkshire said. "It is what it is, we had the (Waratah) Cup game on Wednesday called as well. Everyone is in the same boat, we'll get through it. The sooner we got on top of it, the sooner we can crack on with the season.
"We still plan to train on Saturday because all of our boys live down here. They'll obviously still have Sunday off. I guess it's a bit of a rest week, and a couple of boys were carrying a few little niggles and it gives them an opportunity to recover."
For the Stingrays, coach Bruce Tilt said it was an understandable call given the circumstances in Sydney.
"You've got to to do the right thing, and it is part and parcel to it," Tilt said.
"It is is disappointing because you get on a bit of a run and you want to keep going. But we'll have to go back to what it was 12 months ago with isolated training. But the girls are good though, you give them a program and you know they'll go and put the effort in."
