This is just one of the questions "frustrated" South Coast Labour Council secretary Arthur Rorris wants addressed by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
"Why is it that this government is enforcing a form of apartheid during lockdown, where some of the people are looked after and the workers, the vast majority of the NSW population is forgotten?" asked Mr Rorris.
"The state government's announcement of support for the small business sector in NSW is indeed a good thing. It is just a great shame that it stops there.
"It stops with businesses and doesn't extend to the employees who work for them.
"Why is it that a small business person may be entitled up to $10,000 if they've lost 70 per cent of their turnover, but their worker gets zilch.
Why is it that a small business person may be entitled up to $10,000 if they've lost 70 per cent of their turnover, but their worker gets zilch?
"Nothing more than a one month extension on a $25 dine voucher that they will probably use in another small business."
The union boss added passing the buck and saying it was the federal government's responsibility was a "cop out".
"Even if that were the case the most workers can get out of that is $350 to $500. That is $350 to $500 for as long as this continues, and that is just nowhere near good enough, nor is it fair."
"The workers of this country have made enormous sacrifices and there is a growing and seething anger and a sense of betrayal that our government has squandered those sacrifices."
He added that the position Australia was in a year ago should never have been squandered in the way that it had.
"And, we should never have been in a position where our governments are now asking the workers to make more sacrifices whilst they look after only part of the population, only the business sector.
"The NSW government needs to represent all of NSW, not just business, because the vast majority of the population are workers, and the workers are not happy Gladys."
