And Vice-Chancellor Professor Patricia Davidson said it would be an improvement on March's widely criticised "virtual graduations".
Graduations were due to be held on July 21-23 but were postponed because of the lockdown.
Due to the continued prevalence of the Delta strain of COVID-19, the ceremonies have been moved online at a date to be announced.
An earlier online graduation ceremony in March was panned by graduates, with a list of names rolling up the screen like film credits.
UOW Vice-Chancellor Professor Patricia Davidson said the university had learned from that experience and gathered feedback from those graduates.
"We have taken on feedback from [the] online graduation ceremony and now have a better understanding of what elements our students value most from an online graduation," Prof Davidson
"We are working around the clock to present students with a new and improved online graduation ceremony that provides the optimal online experience.
"While we can't give students an in-person celebration, we do intend to make their virtual graduation a memorable event."
The 2021 graduation ceremony will include more live elements than the previous ceremony, providing the chance for student engagement and photo opportunities, and students' names will be read out, rather than displayed on screen.
