"By the looks of it, this is the way it'll be going probably into the future now if we keep on having situations like this (lockdown)," Ali Yagmur from Domain Real Estate Illawarra said.
"From what I've seen, some of these auctions now, online auctions actually seem to be getting more... Whether that's the current market circumstances, it seems people are paying a bit more for them."
Among Mr Yagmur's current listings is 10 Buckland Street, Fernhill.
The two-bedroom, one-bathroom home will go under the hammer via AuctionNow on Saturday at 9.30am.
The property offers a large lounge room with fireplace, approximately 626 square metres of near level land and the potential for a second dwelling or granny flat (subject to council approval).
Mr Yagmur said the property, located in this small suburb, had largely attracted interest from local buyers, with a few out of area parties also registered, including one from Queensland.
He said the property also had knockdown-rebuild potential.
Bidding will kick off at $800,000.
"It's a nice level block and close to the local parks there," Mr Yagmur said.
Other properties going to auction in the coming days are available for inspection, either by FaceTime or private, one-on-one bookings only.
One such home is 19 Duncan Street, Balgownie. It will be auctioned via AuctionNow on Tuesday.
The four-bedroom, one-bathroom property is set on 559 square metres.
Selling agent, Cliff McGrath from PRD Dapto said the auction was previously scheduled to take place in early September, but such was the high level of interest in the home it was brought forward.
He said the majority of interested parties were local buyers.
Mr McGrath said the price guide initially was about the $900,000 mark, but following feedback this was now in the mid-$900,000 range.
"It's one of those classic Australian red brick homes," he said.
"It's in a really nice family-friendly street, it's a level block, it's just got that real appeal. You can tell it's been a really well-kept, much-loved home for a family for a long time.
"The buyers can add their touch to it, but the bones are good."
Also going under the virtual hammer is 10 Armstrong Avenue, Mount Warrigal.
Set on 562 square metres, the four-bedroom, one-bathroom home will be auctioned on Tuesday.
It has a price guide of $800,000.
It features an open plan living and dining area, plus gourmet kitchen overlooking the backyard and in-ground pool.
Selling agent, Daniel Ling from Ray White Shellharbour City said the property was drawing interest from local renters looking to get into the market, to parties in country areas.
"It's a great home - the kitchen's been renovated, the bathroom's been renovated, and the pool/outdoor area/backyard is fantastic," he said.
Mr Ling said the suburb offered great value for money.
"Mount Warrigal is a popular spot at the moment. It was always the sleeping giant when I first got into real estate... Everyone woke up and realised that the views you get in Mount Warrigal overlooking the lake and the ocean are amazing."
Another property located in the Shellharbour local government area that's headed to auction is 3/27 Jason Avenue, Barrack Heights.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom property, located in an exclusive development of modern designer townhouses, will be auctioned on Tuesday.
Selling agent, Cooper Askew from Ray White said there wasn't a price guide for the home, but there had been interest in the high $800,000 area.
He said the number of parties showing interest had been affected by the lockdown, but there were a number of prospective buyers locally.
He said the home was located in a growing area.
"It's hard to get into Barrack Point, but this offers the same lifestyle as Barrack Point without the price tag," he said.
