"Transport for NSW is investigating solutions for permanent electronic digital signage to be installed at Bellambi Boat Ramp that will display boating safety messages," a spokesperson said.
"The sign will feature a large LED display that will show real-time weather alerts and forecasts.
"We are also exploring options to feature boating safety icons to support boaters where English is not their first language."
Surf Life Saving Illawarra spokesperson Anthony Turner said he anticipated conversations about what could be done to imporve safety in the area after a coroner's report into Sunday's fatal boating accident was released.
"There's going to be a lot of chate between key stakeholders around any recommendations that come from the coroner's report," he said.
"We welcome any initiative to improve safety after the tragic loss of life in our region over the past 18 months."
A spokesperson from Marine Rescue said they would also be supportive of any actions taken to improve boating safety in the area.
The department confirmed the initiative after the third fatal accident involving a boat launched from Bellambi since June 2020.
On June 6, 2020, a five-year-old boy and 28-year-old-man died after the boat they were in crashed into Peggy's Reef off Bulli.
