NSW Health are investigating one new positive COVID case recorded in Wollongong local government area in the 24 hours to 8pm Wednesday.

The person was from the 2526 postcode, while the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District also had three other positive cases during that time frame.
Two of the cases were from Shellharbour LGA the Albion Park area and linked to a previously known case and another in the Nowra area was linked to a known case also. NSW Health urged the public to continue to get tested even if they are showing mild symptoms of concern.

"Despite the continued low cases numbers, the district is again urging the community to be vigilant for even the mildest of symptoms and to come forward for testing and vaccination," they said in a statement.
It comes as the state recorded 261 new locally acquired cases, bringing the total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 77482.
Over 90.4 per cent of 16 plus double vaccinated.
