"I have so much admiration for our employees, particularly those on the frontlines. I've also been inspired by the resilience and pragmatism of our residents and customers and the support of their families and friends."
There were no COVID cases during the reporting year but Mr Reid said there was a significant outbreak in October when 26 residents and six employees at Tarrawanna tested positive. He said the outbreak sadly resulted in the deaths of five residents. "We're all deeply saddened by the loss."
Financially Mr Reid said there was revenue growth but IRT ended the financial year with a $10.6 million underlying operating loss but a net profit of $11.7 million after selling IRT Woolwich and an aged care centre adjoining Bulli Hospital.
